Patience is not one of my virtues. So of course I’ve been offered lessons in it over and over again, the big one being the incredibly long time it has taken to unwind from “every muscle in your body is twisted up like a steel pipe, and your muscles are glued together and to your bones…” I’m really impatient to get on with that one.
In 20 years I’ve never jumped up and down screaming “make it stop” in a practitioner’s office nor tried to claw my face off to stop the throbbing nor, miracle of miracles, become addicted to painkillers (haven’t even had a prescription) to stop the agonizing pain. That might be as much patience as I can muster, so let’s move it along. Uh oh. I think I see another lesson coming!
